The Burpee A 10 Minute Fat Burning Workout

The holidays are here. The parties are starting and all that holiday food is hitting the table. With the new year coming it’s also the time for new years resolutions. what is always one of the top resolutions? Weight loss.

Before I show you how to use the Burpee and get a total body fat burning workout at home in 10 minute workouts with no equipment let me touch on a couple of points first.

The number one excuse for not starting and sticking with a fat burning workout is a lack of time. Now I think this is just a cop out myself. But having said that I also think people use this excuse for 2 reasons:

#1 Your just plain lazy
#2 Getting bad workout advice

As far as the first excuse being lazy I’m afraid there isn’t much I can do to help you. It is totally up to you to find the motivation and desire to lose weight and get healthier. Now stick with me here and maybe this will help you.

Getting bad workout advice. The internet is great but it is also full of misinformation. The newstand fitness magazines are fun to look at sometimes but the muscle building and fat burning workouts in them are pretty unrealistic. Since we are looking at how to burn fat here lets look at what one of the most common reccomendations for a fat burning workout is.

Can you guess what it is? The old treadmill. Its not that I am totally against the treadmill, its the way it is used. Spending an hour 4-5-6 times a week is a waste of time and a totally inefficent way to lose fat. But you see it everywhere in local gyms line after line of treadmills and people mindlessly using them.

Now used properly the treadmill can get you a great fat burning workout. But the way most people use them is as I mentioned very inefficient. So if you insist on using it here is how you should.

Interval training style, sprint for one minute, walk or jog for two are best for burning fat. You burn 100 calories in 20 minutes of low-intensity work compared to 160 calories in 10 minutes of high intensity, and you also burn more total fat in less time during a high-intensity fat burning workout.

Okay now lets talk about The Burpee. You may know it as the squat thrust we used to do back in school.

In case you have

forgotten this is how you do the Burpee for a beginner.

1.Stand erect
2.Squat down putting your hands on the floor.
3.Kick your feet back so you are in a push up position.
4.Bring your feet back in so you are in the squat position.
5.Stand up.

Sounds easy enough right. Done properly and with intensity it will kick your butt(in a good way). What you want to do is set a timer for 10 minutes. Do as many reps as you can in that 10 minutes. Your next workout try to top the amount of reps you did last time. That is how you burn fat and build lean muscle, progression.

Water is another fat burning solution and plenty of water not only burns the fats but it helps to purify your blood and your colon system keeping you hydrated and healthy. For a better weight loss, you can drink green tea and do regular exercises if you want to because green tea is another fat burn and anti oxidant in nature product which slowly helps to burn the fats of your body and improve your stamina.

So just keep yourself healthy by eating good food like fruits and vegetable and drink lots of water. It would not only help you to lose weight but keep you away from many diseases because food directly effects your body and if you follow good and healthy diet, you can remain fit and active for longer and your stamina is going to improve day by day which is very important for living a healthy life. You will also feel light when you will change your life style by eating fat burn fruits and vegetables along with some exercise and plenty of water and if you keep moving with this routine, you will never gain weight again in your life.

New Delhi, Jan. 16 — I need to gain some weight. Yes, you read that right – I said 'gain', 'not lose'. While the rest of my friends used to sweat it out at the gym, swearing off fried food and stuffing themselves with bland salads, I would loll about gorging on junk food, watching everyone squirming into their tight jeans with a smug smile on my face. Exercise? That's something only those trying to shed some flab do!

Then, I happened to step on the weighing scale at the doctor's and was told that at 5 feet six inches and a feather-light 50 kg, I was severely underweight for my age. Being thin is good, said the doctor. Looking like Olive Oyl's twin is not.

CHEWING THE FAT How thin or fat you are depends on how fast and efficiently your body can burn the calories you pile on. Doctors call it the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). The higher your BMR, the thinner you are.

People who have a high BMR are an envied lot – since they can pretty much indulge in anything they want without a substantial difference in weight. “It is a misconception that thin people are weak or unfit,” says Dr Priti Vijay, Head of Department of Dietetics at the Max Heart and Vascular Institute. “As long as you follow a healthy lifestyle and don't suffer from problems like tiredness, lethargy and anemia, there is no problem with being thin.”

If you're thin as a stick, however, gaining some weight can work wonders: for boosting energy levels, concentration and muscle mass (and, possibly, your chances of getting hooked up). DO SWEAT IT If you've been skipping working out since you're already thin, it's time to get the gym shorts out again. “Thin people are often under the illusion that exercising will make them thinner,” says Dr. Vijay. “But regular, moderate exercise like jogging, skipping or even playing a sport like badminton is essential to gain some weight. Exercise increases your appetite so you can eat more food,” she adds.

It is best to stick to light exercises like stretching, running on the treadmill and moderate weight training, feels Dr Vijay. “Work out too much, and you risk losing weight, especially if you do not increase your food intake,” she says. “For good results, try supplementing your meals with cereal bars.” CHOW DOWN Here's something that will make overweight people go green with envy: If you're thin, you can go ahead and gorge on your favourite pastries, chocolates and ice creams – as frequently as once a day (yes, we double-checked)! “As long as you avoid an overdose of ghee and butter,” says Dr Vijay, “you can safely go ahead and eat your favourite foods.” Beer-lovers, however, are out of luck, since beer is just empty calories.

“Thin people should stick to an extremely high-calorie diet if they want to put on some body mass,” says Dr Shachi Sohal, a dietician at B L Kapur Memorial Hospital, New Delhi. “It is also important to have at least four or five small meals a day, instead of three heavy meals,” she adds.

Like obese people, thin people too are not immune to high levels of cholesterol and blood pressure. “So it is important to not just put on calories, but put on the right kind of calories,” says Dr Sohal.

Typically, you should have at least one boiled egg with your breakfast daily and include nutritious things like chicken, fish, whole wheat grain, paneer and sprouted pulses like chana and moong in your meals. Try soups with plenty of vegetables as appetizers in lunch and dinner. Says Dr Sohal, “It is important to gradually increase your calorie intake along with the intensity of your exercise routine to gain a substantial amount of weight.”

Desserts can include halwas, dates, curd with sugar and snacks like chikki and jaggery. “Nutritional supplements are beneficial,” says Dr. Vijay, “But take them only in consultation with your doctor.” WEIGHT GAIN TIPS
